5160 steel is a high-carbon alloy with added chromium. It’s known for its excellent toughness, high durability, resistance to deformation and abrasion, and ability to hold a sharp edge while maintaining flexibility. It’s commonly used in high-stress applications because it can withstand significant impact without breaking.
