4340 alloy steel bar is formed using a medium-carbon alloy. Similar to 4140 steel, 4340 is recognized for its durability and superior impact properties especially when induction hardened. Mainly found in the automotive, aerospace, and energy industries, 4340 alloy steel is used in such products as shafts, axles, and drilling components.
