1008 carbon steel wire rod is formed using low-carbon steel and is the most common low carbon wire rod grade. It is very versatile and can be easily drawn into wire or cold headed. 1008 steel wire rod is used in a multitude of applications, including concrete pipe, mesh, fencing, threaded rod, and mainly non-critical headed parts and fasteners.
