302 stainless steel is an austenitic type grade with similar properties to 304 steel. It contains slightly higher carbon content, contributing to its higher strength and tendency to work harden. When cold-worked, 302 stainless steel can become more magnetic than 304. This stainless steel grade is commonly used in higher-strength applications, including wire products and food processing equipment.
