10V45 is a medium-carbon alloy steel with excellent strength, toughness, and ductility. This grade is typically quenched and tempered to improve its performance under stress. It is commonly used for applications that require high fatigue resistance, like shafts and pistons in hydraulic systems. Unlike 1045 steel, 10V45 steel features added vanadium. This addition improves the steel’s grain structure, thereby increasing its toughness and wear resistance.
